FIFA World Cup final 2022: Golden boot and ball

FIFA World Cup final 2022 was played on 18 December 2022 at Lusail stadium in Qatar. The most memorable photo in the history of the Football World Cup.  On one hand, Messi, whose victory was being wished by almost the whole world, and on the other hand, Mbappe, who won crores of hearts in a single stroke with his game.  The final began and as expected Lionel Messi scored the first goal of the match from a penalty awarded in the 21^st minute. 

Argentina went ahead 1-0.  After this, in the 35^th minute of the match, Messi passed the ball to Mac Allister and Allister passed the ball to Angel Di Maria at lightning speed.  In the blink of an eye, Maria kicks the football into the goal post.  France then went goalless for 80 minutes as Argentina cruised to a comfortable 2–0 victory.

  France got a penalty in the 80^th minute and Mbappe scored his first goal of the match.  Within 97 seconds, Mbappe scored his second goal of the match from a pass from a teammate and breathed new life into what seemed to be a monotonous encounter.  The match ended in a 2-2 draw after the stipulated 90 minutes.  In extra time, 2 halves of 15-15 minutes each were played. 

Here Messi scored a goal in the 108^th minute and in the 118^th minute, Mbappe completed the hat-trick by scoring his third goal of the match.  More important than the hat-trick was that Mbappe took the match to the penalty shootout.  During this, the fans were not able to understand which way the competition would turn?  The most memorable final in the history of the Football World Cup was showing new colors.

  Messi scored just after Mbappé scored in the penalty shootout.  Here again, thanks to both the giants, it started with a 1-1 draw but in the end, France lost the penalty shoot-out 4-2.  Messi could have gone on to celebrate with his teammates after this grand victory.  But before that he thought it better to hold the hand of the player who single-handedly kept France going until the last second in the match against Argentina. 

This picture will stand testimony for centuries that after a football final when emotions were running high, 2 of the best players held each other’s hands and raised the dignity of the game.  Mbappé gained crores of new fans around the world even after losing.  Mbappé won the Golden Boot by scoring 8 goals in the FIFA World Cup 2022, while Messi, who scored 7 goals, was awarded the Golden Ball.  The player with the most goals gets the Golden Boot, while the player with the most impact from his game is awarded the Golden Ball award.
